१ यति मीठो संगीत त नानाथरी विदेशी मुद्रा हरूको खन खन नै हुनुपर्छ साला पहाड में क्या है ? पूर्वसरकारवालाहरूलाई लाग्यो: पहाड हरू प्रभुलाई अर्पेर उऋण हुने, केहि बचत भएछ भने चुनावलाई भरथेग हुन्छ । तिर्न त खोज्नुभएकै हो नि उहाँहरूले । महाकाली, माथिल्लो कर्णाली, अरू ण तेस्रो , तल्लो अरू ण जस्ता जीवनदायिनी नदीहरू सार्वभौम संसदलाई छलेर दान दिनुभएकै थियो । तर त्यतिले पुगेन भन्ने खबर आयो पारि बाट शायद । अनि चढाउनुपरेन त अविकासका प्रतीक, यथास्थितिका प्रतीक, प्रतिगमनका प्रतीक दम्भी पहाडहरूलाई प्रभुका चरणकमलमा ? यसो गर्दा पहाडहरू विकासको क्रममा हुने विनाशलीलाबाट जोगिएका छन् । हाम्रोमा भने यात्राका क्रममा यौटै पहाडको कैयौँ पटक 'कैलाश प्रदक्षिणा' गर्नुपर्ने बाध्यता छँदैछ । रूखबाटै रूखको शत्रु ऐजेरू उत्पन्न हुन्छ भने पहाडको छा तिबाटै पहाडविरोधी शक्ति जन्मिनु कुन आश्चर्य भो र ? जिउँदाजाग्दा उदाहरण त हाम्रा नानाथरी नेताहरू  नै छन्  । यस पहाडविरोधी भावनाको जड हो: पहाडहरूले नेपालको विकासमा बाधा पुर्याएका छन् भन्ने गलत धारणा । हाम्रा विकाससम्बन्धी धारणाहरू असाध्यै त्रुटिपूर्ण...

In the latest edition of #SoftTalk, I have had a conversation with the senior advocate and constitutional expert, Dr Chandra Kanta Gyawali.  Dr Gyawali argues that the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli must make way for a new government by facing the sovereign Parliament and stepping down, pointing that he has already pointed at the absence of majority support for his government in the Parliament. A caretaker government can take shape only after the current PM  quits,  Dr Gyawali argues, pointing that it is unethical on the part of PM Oli to stay on to power even after losing majority support.  Responding to another query,  Dr Gyawali argues that the PM Oli sticking to power is in contravention of prevailing parliamentary practices. You may be thinking: This must be a story from one of those Leo Tolstoy books. This is a fiction, not a fact, for such a miscarriage of justice cannot take place in a modern, democratic world. Or this must be a story from one of those pariah states. Forty years behind bars on a fabricated murder charge. No trial, no recourse for justice.
